Data Download (VAS)

Introducing the Messagemaker VAS Data Download system, allowing you to collect data that is stored within your Vehicle Activated Speed (VAS) devices, with ease. This does not come as standard on our speed signs, and is an optional extra to enhance traffic management capabilities.

Using this data provides a variety of benefits such as highlighting speeding patterns, measuring the effectiveness of speed reduction initiatives and helping to justify funding both from the past and in the future. Additionally, this information can optimise traffic management strategies, identify high-risk areas, and develop targeted interventions to enhance road safety.

Key Features of Data Collection

• Quickly download data from all of your VAS devices
• Provides accurate, around the clock data
• Records both the time and the speed of each instance of a passing vehicle
• Data can be used to show the speeding patterns of vehicles

There are 3 variants of data collection capability available upon request:

• Micro USB – Directly download the data via connecting your laptop to the VAS device
• Bluetooth – With this the user can park within 10 metres of the device and extract the data wirelessly.
• 4G Modem – Allows for remote data collection
